Is this the perfect spot for treehouse camping in Texas? The Hobbit’s Nest Treehouse is a true woodland getaway located in Page, Texas, near Bastrop. As you may have guessed, the property is Lord of the Rings themed and has lots of little decorative pieces to bring the Shire to life.

Best of all, it’s one of the most dog-friendly places you’ll find. In fact, the owners live nearby and their two dogs roam the garden and may come to the treehouse to say hello!
There is no wifi but there is a grill, toilet, shower and mini fridge so I recommend cooking there and really unplugging. Plus, the nature sounds here are top-notch, especially the “frog chorus” you can hear from the beautiful lily pond overlooking the treehouse.
This stylish glamping resort is located just outside Dripping Springs in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Options at Lucky Arrow Retreat ($10 off for new Hipcamp users) include yurts, cabins, and cabins, depending on your group size and the type of experience you want. If you really want to go camping, yurts are your best option, as shown below.

The hotel is also located in Johnson City and is just 1.5 miles from Pedernales Falls State Park, so if you want to hike and explore the state park during your stay, this is the place Is your perfect choice.
My favorite is the Birdhouse, their pony room, although I would only recommend it for solo (+ dog) accommodation. It’s quite small! However, if you are looking for something larger, a cabin is a great option. At the time of writing, dogs are not allowed in the luxury tents.
It’s a good idea to check which rooms at each location allow pets, as sometimes all rooms and policies at a hotel can change!
The 10 Best Pet Friendly Hotels In Boerne 2024 (with Prices)
Located on the shores of Lake Bastrop, GLAT Austin offers luxury safari-style glamping tents that sleep 3 to 6 people, depending on which tent you choose ($10 discount for new Hipcamp users). They also have some cabins with their own private bathtubs, as well as other amenities like fireplaces in every room on the property.
Mystic Quarry in Canyon Lake, Texas is the perfect place for summer rafting! Their accommodations include tiny houses, teepees, tents and glamping cabins, as well as RV sites and tent sites (new Hipcamp users receive a $10 discount). You can hang out by the pool, float on the nearby Guadalupe River, catch a concert at the Whitewater Amphitheater, or spend the day at Canyon Lake.
