Although access to the famous pier is restricted, dogs are welcome on the 7km of Geograph Bay coastline from Pier West to Holgate Road. Margaret Street Beach Access Area and Mandalay Beach Access Area are the only small areas where it is restricted.

After enjoying a hearty breakfast and a morning beer, take a stroll down Dun Bay Road. Turn right and enjoy sweeping views of the bay. Take a trip to a park surrounded by peppermint trees, let the kids play on the playground, or bring a picnic. There are many pet-friendly areas. You can also turn left onto Dunn Bay Road, although there are some areas that are closed in the summer and the Old Dunsborough Ramp is closed to dogs all year round.
The bay is breathtakingly beautiful with its creamy sand and sparkling water and is perfect for walking or paddling. In upscale Eagle Bay, visit the northwest end near Bunker Bay Resort, for a leisurely stroll along the boat dock or Bunker Bay. Unfortunately pets are not allowed on Meelup Beach and Castle Bay Beach.
This is an opportunity for you to properly train and give your dog a chance to contain his pent-up energy. The main beach is closed, but from here take a walk down Dawson Drive and the beach. From Smith Beach you can head north to Torpedo Rocks (unfortunately not available in summer).
Walk along the Gracetown waterfront between the Cape to Cape Trailhead and the Melaleuca Beach picnic area. Stay at the northern end, in the picturesque Nullabup, where dogs run free with the wind in their fur and collect colorful shells. Access to Surfers Point.

Located in the heart of Esperance, Pink Lake Tourist Park has everything for you and your four-legged friend. A short drive to the beautiful Pink Lake where you can take some exceptional Instagram photos and a 2km drive to a scenic promenade along beautiful Esperance Bay, with great facilities for the whole family.
You can’t list dog-friendly campsites and not include Fonty’s Pool. This wonderful location is a local favorite with excellent facilities, the famous ‘Fonty’s Pool’ itself and a refurbished caravan park which has now been expanded into a large mini tourist park. Marriage also takes place on the spot. It’s easy to see why. The area is beautiful and your pet will have lots of fun exploring the campsite and its surroundings (on a leash).
Amenities: Grill, gas stove, large fire pit (seasonal), renovated sanitary area with shower, laundry, newly renovated play area, large pool area with pool tube and diving board.
Pets are allowed all year round: No – except Christmas holidays and long weekends. Additionally, pets are not allowed during the annual Truffle Kerfuffle Festival in winter.
Dog Friendly Travel Guide
Situated within walking distance of the Blackwood River, Sue’s Bridge Campground is ideal for anyone looking to escape to the Western Australian bush with their dog. This unpowered location cannot be booked. Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis and can be busy on weekends and public holidays. Each campsite has individual picnic benches and fire pits to warm and roast marshmallows.
Just 160 meters from the beach, Breeze Holiday Park is a perfect retreat south of Busselton. Explore this pet-friendly caravan park with your dog or set up the play area and picnic table for a lovely family meal.

Discovery Parks Bunbury Foreshore is located on Coomba Bay, next to a long, beautiful white sandy beach and quiet cove. Acquired and renovated in 2017, this property is the perfect place to stretch your legs and enjoy your vacation. If you’re here during wildflower season, be sure to explore the Malewa region to admire the colorful landscape.
