Justin Trails Resort in Sparta, WI – This dog-friendly area is full of adventure opportunities with over 200 acres of open space and forests. You and your child can enjoy on-site camping or choose a more comfortable cabin stay, with 3 pet accommodations available (for a small fee each night). It’s a great place to go skiing or snowboarding. Pets are also available.

Indian Lake County Park in Cross Plains, WI – This park features a beautiful 447-acre lake with winding trails that lead to a beautiful historic 1857 church. If you want to go cross-country skiing or snowboarding, it’s is the ideal place. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to take photos of your feet enjoying the snow at one of the scenic spots along the route. In addition to a small boat launch on the west side of the lake, there is also a designated pet-friendly exercise area on site.

Interstate State Park in St. Croix Falls, WI – Although the area does not have official ski trails, there are many trails to choose from. Keep in mind that some areas may be off-limits to your pet, so always check signs and follow Wisconsin State Parks rules. Winter recreational trails are open for pet-friendly activities such as cross-country skiing, winter hiking, cross-country skiing and hiking, trail running, and snowshoeing. Please note that the Skyline Trail does not allow pets. If you want to relax with your pets, the area is open to camping in tents, trailers and campers.

Honestly, Coho Coast stole my heart with these waterfront fire pits. Although Oregon Coast Park is a short drive from Seattle, its modern interior and stunning views of the Pacific Ocean make it worth the drive. Dogs under 25 pounds are welcome in some homes – more details.

It’s my New Year’s resolution to make early reservations at St. Edward’s Dream Hotel – which should be easy since it’s a half-hour drive from the city. This historic seminary has been restored into a luxurious and beautiful resort located on 326 acres directly on Lake Washington. We had a great weekend at the Lodge in Vashon in January 2020 – and we wrote about it here – and those memories got me through the first months of lockdown.
