Nepal is an explorer’s paradise, especially for those who enjoy long walks and trekking. While walking is one of the most popular tourist activities in our country, it is not the only way to explore our beautiful places. Walking can be a great alternative for those who encounter fear. The Post spoke with Hike of Nepal, a tourism development project founded by tourism industry experts, to come up with five hiking spots around Kathmandu that you can go to the next time you want to explore.
Great Places To Go Hiking Near Me
Climbing Nepal has been organizing day walks, trekking tours and overnight tours since 2015, all while raising funds for earthquake-affected communities and schools.
Starved Rock State Park
This short hike is perfect for beginners. Anyone who is new to mountain climbing and wants to do an easy route should choose to go to Jagadol-Tarebhir. The climb starts at Krishna Mandir (in Jagadol, Gokarneshwar). We climb a small road in front of Krishna Mandir to Tarebhir, near Shivapuri National Park in Gokarneshwar, north of Kathmandu. It is a smooth path that goes up the mountain.
This is another method suitable for beginners. You can climb from Khopasi via Sanagaun and Nyaupane Gaun after driving to Khopasi via Panauti (32 km, 1:15 hours). Pilgrims will pass by Ladkeshor Mahadev temple during this journey. During the trek, you will enjoy beautiful sights rich in culture, gifts of nature, temples, monasteries and other natural wonders such as high hills and mountain views, fields, etc. After reaching Balthali, you can relax in a flat house, eat local food while enjoying the beauty of the village.
This trip will take you on the Budhanilkantha-Shivapuri-Bagdwar route. As there are many ups and downs and the route is like a staircase, it is considered a difficult route. The Nepal Hike Team does not recommend this route to anyone who is new to the sport of hiking. Also, if you have foot or leg problems, you should also avoid this method altogether. However, if you are used to hiking and how difficult it is, the feeling of walking through the forest while enjoying the amazing scenery during this trip is incomparable.
This is one of the most difficult competitions, and few people have attempted it. The Nepal Trekking Team recommends that you never attempt this alone as only an experienced trekker can guide you. “It’s called the death trail for a reason. Without help, there’s every chance you’ll get lost,” said Dinesh Paudel, one of the founders of Hike For Nepal. The route will take you from Lamagaun to Dadikhel and then to Banasur Danda and finally to Mahhegaun, but this will be an unforgettable experience if you are accompanied by experienced climbers.
Hikes On Senja Island Offer Endless Beauty
This is one of the most sought after visitors in the Nepal trek and the team organizes this trek at least once a year, and every time it attracts a lot of people. Beautiful fields of yellow mustard, fragrant oranges and nature trails can be found along this route. While walking, you will pass through a traditional village of the Kavre region and see its interesting culture.
