To find out, Petsure assessed 40 popular UK holiday destinations and ranked them based on the percentage of dog-friendly hotels, restaurants, spas and pubs, number of local vets and dog-friendly walks. Lymington in Hampshire offers some very dog-friendly walks with 169 routes, from nature reserves to picturesque coastal paths. The town has 19 dog-friendly restaurants and 57 pubs, perfect for relaxing after a walk. With 35 veterinary practices within a 20-mile radius, pet owners have access to the veterinary care they need.
Bournemouth comes second with 58 vets and 45 dog-friendly hotels. The city offers 87 hiking trails, 35 dog-friendly restaurants and 43 dog-friendly bars and pubs, making it an ideal destination for pet parents.
Tynemouth, a coastal town in the north-east of England, comes third with 71 vets and 25 dog-friendly walks. Half of the city’s hotels allow dogs, making it easier to find comfortable accommodation.
Dartmouth in Devon comes fourth, followed by Bamburgh in Northumberland. Strikingly, half of its restaurants in Bamburgh are dog friendly. Searching for the best dog-friendly holidays in Britain is becoming more and more popular with dog owners every year.
