Best Dog Friendly Florida Beaches – I first started going to Destin as a kid for family vacations. There weren’t many back then and we never got a dog. It was also just free days in the sun, trips to the beach, and nights spent hunting sand crabs. My only other memories are the Donut Pit and the Back Porch (both still there and not dog friendly).
In January 2017, my parents made their dream of going to the beach come true. Dad really wanted to be warmer than the kitchen, but Mom insisted on staying away from Arkansas. It was fate! Since they are retired, I spend every Christmas as Henry. I’m not crazy about it.
Best Dog Friendly Florida Beaches
I wrote my first dog-friendly 30A post in January 2018. Since it was all new to us, we did a lot of research and reporting. Five years later, we have our favorite dog spots, but we’ve discovered even more. I’ll update your list from where I started in the first post with the legal details you need to know. They must repeat.
A Pet Friendly Rentals
In short, no. In Okaloosa County, 8 miles along HWY 98, dogs are not allowed on any beaches. NO. The fine is usually $100 for the first offense ($200 for the second, $300 for the third), but county deputies can fine you up to $300 the first time.
In Walton County (South Walton) 30A leashed, licensed and leased dogs are allowed on beaches from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. No stray dogs allowed. It’s easier to get to these beaches and get settled, but if you get caught
Are you working Food and drink, of course! And hiking, paddling and shopping. Then eat and drink more. We’ve been in two counties for 5 years in a row and now it feels like home. Besides family, there’s always a reason to come back.
If shopping is your favorite pastime, the Emerald Coast has you covered. Along with plenty of local shops that welcome your dog, there are three large outdoor areas to satisfy your shopping and dining needs.
Best Dog Friendly Restaurants In Miami And Fort Lauderdale
If you want to shop in Destin, take your wallet to HarborWalk Village, a collection of restaurants and (mostly touristy) shops. You can take a stroll around the village boardwalk and harbor, rent a paddleboard, kayak or jet ski, book a dolphin cruise, catch live music or enjoy a cocktail at one of the dog-friendly spots. Need a cocktail but can’t afford one? Overcome.
Harborwalk hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including Pawdi Gras. Check the calendar before you come with your dog. It can be full of vacation-seeking adults and low-flying children with limited supervision, and event days may not be suitable for all dogs.
On the list of dog-friendly shopping areas is Grand Boulevard in Miramar Beach. You’ll find national brands, local boutiques, specialty shops, and a dog-friendly dining terrace. Look for the year-round farmers market on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm, and dog-friendly activities. Some of our favorite dog shops include Tommy Bahama, Orvis, and the local Zoo Gallery (also in Grayton Beach).
Last but not least is Baytown Harf. Why there isn’t a little dog boutique that offers a daily Yappy Hour (free cocktails for the humans), clinics, and all the things you want to forget about when traveling with a dog is beyond me. I live on a boat at Baytown Marina and have a daily commute to the store. On my way to work, I stopped at the fenced dog park between the marina and the shopping area so Henry could do some work and stretch his sea legs. If anyone wants to steal my idea, feel free to credit me!
Dog Friendly Hotels In New England That Will Pamper Your Pup
Located at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, Baytown Harbor offers dog-friendly restaurants and shops. Upon arrival, you will pass through a security gate and be shown your destination. Just say “Bytown Pier.” From festivals to music on the lawn, there’s usually something going on. Many events are family and dog friendly because dogs are family friendly. My favorite event is the Gumbo Festival in February.
If you forget your jumper, run out of bags, or just want something special, visit Doggie Bag for boutique and handmade treats or Pet Supply Plus (a local franchise) for big box treats. . The Doggie Bowl will feature unique, locally made items such as scarves, collars and art, while PSP will carry all of its branded dog treats, bowls, leashes and PFDs.
The Beauchamp restaurant is named after the owner’s three Labradors – BoBo, Otis and Shug. Their names and initials of the owner, M.P. so his sister also came. Bochamp’s Destin has four decks that extend down to the sandy beach with deck chairs, hammocks and games, on the waterfront with stunning views. If you come with your dog, you will probably be escorted through the restaurant to a place on the terrace. Served on a wooden napkin, the gumbo is delicious and most of their packages contain labs.
If you like fast food, check out Mama Clemenza Restaurant in Miramar Beach. We serve European style breakfast and dinner, trust me when you ask to order from the counter. If it’s banana bread, you’ll want some. And the orange row. If you’ve never served it with olive oil, sea salt and pepper before, you’re in for a treat. Anne’s is not a big place, so you’ll need reservations from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Well-behaved children and dogs (on the terrace) are always welcome, but as long as they are well-behaved, I keep them in mind. If you can’t control the bills, “mom” won’t hesitate to collect food for you. That means I go here at least once every time I’m in town!
Pet Friendly Vacation Destinations
I know you don’t go to Destin for Mexican food. Neither do I. So this place probably won’t be on your radar. Tune your radar and enjoy live music at Mexala’s Grill Tiki Bar on Miramal Beach. It was there that I met Rhino Jockey for the first time, and although they don’t play there (you can catch them at the North Beach Social dog club featured in the next section), the restaurant decided to bring back the music. open space . . Starting March 3rd, on Thursday nights you’ll be able to catch a new trio of amazing women. I was asked to become a violinist.
Camille’s Crystal Beach, open 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and it’s the perfect place to grab a pastry and coffee after a walk
With his dog. There is music on Sundays from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and on Thursdays and Fridays from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Come back in the evening without your dog and enjoy a delicious dinner in the upstairs restaurant.
Pompano Joe’s in Miramar Beach remains the most visited place in our area. Partly because my parents’ house is close (about 5 minutes), but mostly because of the atmosphere, the attitude and kindness of the dogs. The restaurant is located on the street side and the lower deck is on the sand. The ground floor is not open out of season, but the outdoor bar upstairs is often open, especially on nice days. Happy hour starts at 3 p.m. With $5.00 margaritas and $2.50 beers. By four o’clock you can count on locals spitting on the driveway. You will meet a black and white dog named Lulu and her bird friend Mr. Utley, as well as Morgan, a golden retriever. If you don’t have any food, Lulu won’t talk to you; father broke it.
Pet Friendly Key West Vacation
Don’t forget to eat after sunset. Dogs can join their humans on the front deck (street side). I like reggae rolls, smoked tuna dip, gumbo, but really, anything is good.
Another local favorite is North Beach Social in Santa Rosa Beach. Featuring an outdoor beach on the sandy shores of Choctawhatay Bay, NBS offers music five days a week, including Saturday and Sunday afternoons, and a menu featuring family favorites from five popular restaurants. Both children and dogs can relax on the sand, at the bar and on the terrace. The sandy seating area includes picnic tables and conversation areas
