Dogs are required to be on a lead on all roads and are not allowed in any city parks. However, there are dog-friendly areas in the Jackson Hole area that can be easily identified by the PAWS Mutt-Mitt bag distributors at the trailhead.
Favorite places to exercise your dog: Emily Pond on the Snake River and the south end of the bank on the west side of the river. These sites are located on both sides of the Snake River – with spectacular views of the Tetons and can be reached via Highway 22 on the way to Teton Village and Wilson. Cache Creek is an extensive trail network located near the Snow King base area and is one of the most popular places for locals and tourists to take their dogs for a walk. You can also go to Gros Ventre National Forest and take your dog swimming in Slide Lake. Check out the Jackson Hole Pet Map.
There are campgrounds throughout the valley, including Bridger Teton National Forest, and places where you can walk your dog freely. However, for the safety of your dog and the wildlife that passes by, it is important that your dog is present and on command at all times.
